The Mandarin
Room -
A Grand Post &
Beam Room with Elegant Tapestry
Two
sets of French doors provide entrance to this extremely
spacious and warm post and beam room. At one end can be
found a large seating area with built-in bookcase and a
TV/VCR with cable. The dramatic Chinese tapestry described below forms
the focal point of the room. At the other
end can be found a twin bed with an additional pull-out bed
and twin armoires that are located on either side of the
tiered stairs leading to the Mandarin Room's private
bath.
A
waterfall cascades from the Mandarin bath's impressive brass
spout to fill the two-person therapeutic jetted and soothing
air-bubble spa tub. The green granite sink and unusual faucet will charm
you.
Those
who appreciate needlework must view the Mandarin Rooms
antique tapestry acquired in Shanghai, from which the room
draws its name. Covered in fine, tiny stitches, the seven
foot hanging which depicts a Chinese emperor and his
retainers hangs above the king bed. The antique Chinese and
Oriental art repeats the Mandarin theme.
One set
of doors opens onto the pool atrium where guests may wish to
enjoy their first cup of coffee in the morning.
NEW to the
Mandarin Room: This winter we added an attractive fireplace (electric)
to the Mandarin Room for romance.
